Privacy Policy

Who we are

MadMac is a macOS menu bar app produced by BeAppi ("we", "us"). This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect through this website and the MadMac app, why we collect it, and your rights under the UK GDPR and EU GDPR.

The short version

MadMac is designed to collect as little as possible. The app runs entirely on your Mac and does not send your usage, accelerometer data, slap counts or anger levels to us or anyone else. The only personal data we store is an email address if you choose to give us one to be notified about launch.

Data we collect

Data the MadMac app does NOT collect

The MadMac app does not collect, transmit or store any personal data. Impact detection, the anger meter, slap counts and the hardest-hit record all stay on your device. There is no analytics, no tracking and no account.

Payments

MadMac is sold for a one-time price of £4.99 through Gumroad, which acts as our payment processor and merchant of record. When you buy MadMac, your payment details and billing information are collected and processed by Gumroad under their own privacy policy — we never see or store your card details. Please review Gumroad's privacy policy at gumroad.com/privacy.

How long we keep your data

We keep launch-notification emails only until we have sent the launch announcement, after which they are deleted, or sooner if you ask us to remove your address.

Sharing your data

We do not sell your data. We only share data with the service providers needed to operate (our website host, and Gumroad for purchases). Each processes data under their own terms and applicable data-protection law.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal data, to withdraw consent at any time, and to object to processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below and we will respond within one month.
